LALITHA SAHASRANAMAM - Namah # 85

LALITHA SAHASRANAMAM

         @ S. Subramaniam

श्रीमद्वाग्भव कूटैक स्वरूप मुख पङ्कजा (85)

Srimad Vagbhava Kutaika Swarupa Mukha Pankaja (85)

Meaning:

Devi's lotus-like face represents the divine Vagbhava group - an elite group of fifteen letters of the auspicious panchadasi mantra.

Interpretation:

Here Pankaja stands for lotus like and Mukha means face. Mukha pankaja therefore means Lotus-like face.

The word Kuta stands for group and Vaghbhava literally means source of speech. Srimad is a decorative word and in this context can be understood to mean Granting Wisdom.

Upto Namah # 84 the battle with Bhandasura was described and starting from this namah, the 85th, we will be discussing the physical form of Devi.  The physical form is described in three stages - (1) Kuta, (2) Kamakala and (3) Kundalini.

In this nama Her face is compared to the first kuta viz. vagbhava kuta of Panchadasi mantra, which gives knowledge and wisdom.

Author's Note:

Panchadasi is a group of fifteen letters of the auspicious mantra of Sri Vidya Upasana. It is extremely auspicious and not supposed to be discussed in public forum. It needs to be learned only through proper Guru Upadesa.

Surfing the net one can have easy access to the mantras these days, but my humble appeal to the readers to detest it , curb their curiosities and not to indulge in further exploring. Let's respect the auspiciousness of the mantra and that will be the highest form of pranams we can pay to Devi Lalithambika.
