कुण्डलिनी (110)
Kundalini (110)
Meaning:
Devi is in the form of Kundalini , the three and a half coiled snake , located in the basic Chakra, the Mooladhara.
Interpretation:
Kundalini – Devi resides in the Muladhara in the shape of three and half coiled snake and in her form as the light or the power , she controls our body. In this sense Devi is described as the life-giver.
The Vaag Devis describe this as the subtle form of Devi. This goes to prove the importance of inner pooja or meditation than the external rituals.
The base Chakra is a triangle where Icha, Jnana and Kriya shakthis (desire, knowledge and action respectively) form the three sides of the triangle. From these three shakthis the sound of OM - (A, U, M) is generated.
Quote by Kanchi Maha Periyava
Kanchi Paramacharya Maha Swamigal had, in his magnum opus ‘Deivathin Kural’, observed that Kundalini meditation has been commercialized these days and it has become a fashion to talk about Kundalini. It is a very auspicious thing and should be given it's due respect.
Pambatti Siddhar and Kundalini
Pambatti Siddhar, one of eighteen Siddhars who hailed from Tamil Nadu was a legendary monk and sage, who acquired a notable place in the Vedic area. ‘Aadu Pambe’ one of the notable works of Pambatti Siddhar, glorifies the supremacy of cobra, a souvenir of Kundalini. Pambatti Siddhar's research and mastery of kundalini are still revered and admired. His Jeeva Samadhi is located at Sankarankovil, near Thenkasi in Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu.
Author's Notes:
In the book Yoga Vaashishta, Sage Vasishta preaches to Lord Rama the powers of Kundalini. The sage says Like the coiled body of a serpent ..it is exceedingly delicate within…hissing like an angry female serpent causing fluctuations in the mind.
The Mind becomes purified only by the rays of jnana or knowledge….the upward and downward movements of this kundalini shakti can be controlled by sadhakas. Diseases will never affect those who can exercise such a control.
