विष्णुग्रन्थि विभेदिनी (102)
Vishnu Granthi Vibhedini (102)
Meaning:
Devi pierces the second knot called Vishnu Granthi, which lies between the 3rd and 4th Chakras - namely, the Manipura located in navel (Nabhi) region and Anahata which lies in the heart region.
Interpretation:
As we have already seen, Granthi means Knot and Vibhedini means "that which breaks through".
Vishnu Granthi knot lies between Manipura Chakra and Anahata Chakra. This Granthi is a knot of individual ego and power. Our clinging on to ego, self-cherishing and the quest for personal power creates hurdles in the path of slow spiritual progress. This negative feelings collectively form a knot and this knot is known as Vishnu Granthi. This shackle has to be broken or in other words, the knot has to be unfastened.
Similar to Brahma Granthi, in Soundarya Lahari, we do find mention about Munipura chakra and Adi Shankara offering worship to it, but there is no specific mention about Vishnu Granthi and Devi piercing through it.
Author's Notes:
Human beings constantly suffer from the phonia (fear) of being ignored or of losing prestige. We live in a society where we are driven by status consciousness and because of this we lead a false life. Our mind always thinks of accumulating wealth by whatever means. Result is that at the end of the day we accumulate more sin than wealth.
Here again we find another category of individuals who, under the cover of spiritualism, indulge in anti-social activities and mislead common man. There is a plethora of Pakhandi / fake babas / Guruji. Common man, driven by complete ignorance, makes it in big numbers as followersof these falsehood saints at their ashrams. One has to come out all these jinx and directly surrender to Devi.
In order to transcend this level of consciousness we must “give up the love of power, for the power of love. The degree of vulnerability that we show in life – the ability to put our facade aside and challenge our own status quo, will unfasten the Vishnu Granthi knot.
This is possible only when we make complete surrender before Devi. She alone is capable of piercing through the Vishnu Granthi knot and shower her divine benovance on her devotees.
